Commitment of the ERNE Group

Social responsibility

The ERNE Group takes responsibility for its employees, for society and for a sustainable future. Social responsibility is an integral part of our corporate strategy and our daily actions. For us, economic success, ecological responsibility and respectful treatment of people are inextricably linked.

At ERNE, sustainability is anchored in both product development and production processes. Through continuous optimization, innovative solutions and the use of sustainable building materials, we reduce our ecological footprint and create transparency, including in the area of CO₂ emissions. Lean structures and agile processes enable us to respond to market requirements in a responsible and future-oriented manner.

ERNE United - "We - for each other"

People are at the heart of our corporate culture. Under the guiding principle ERNE United "We - for each other", we live appreciation, mutual support and respectful cooperation. Open communication, team spirit and the promotion of personal and professional development form the basis for our employees to develop their full potential. Cohesion within the ERNE family is an essential basis for sustainable corporate success.

Responsibility towards our employees

The ERNE Group also supports its employees in challenging life situations. With the ERNE Welfare Foundation, we help with unforeseen private emergencies by providing earmarked financial support. In addition, our employees have access to professional services such as the external social counselling service Lyra Wellbeing and psychological support from specialized partners.

Another important component is our company case management, which provides employees with individual support and, in close cooperation with insurance companies and medical specialists, enables them to be reintegrated into everyday working life in the long term.

Social commitment

For ERNE, social responsibility goes beyond its business activities. The Erne family has been committed to helping children in Nepal and the Himalayan region for over 25 years. The Himalaya's Children Foundation was established in 2009 to continue this commitment in a long-term and structured manner.

At its heart is the Great Compassion Boarding School, a boarding school with over 200 pupils and an adjoining dormitory. The foundation provides children from low-income families with access to education and supports them beyond primary level with further education through to universities in Pokhara and Kathmandu.

Many of the families supported are still affected by the consequences of the earthquake in 2015. For their children, the Great Compassion Boarding School is often the only chance for education, stability and a carefree childhood. With this long-term commitment, the ERNE Group is making a sustainable contribution to education, equal opportunities and social development.
